Fårkammaren

Protection for sheep, potato cultivation and unusual plants, all in the same place.

The forest-grazing sheep use to seek shelter here in bad weather. It was this that gave rise to the name, which translates as “the sheep chamber”. An overhanging cliff provides good protection, almost like a cave.

Sydväxtberg

The Sydväxtberg area includes a sheer cliff, fine soil directly below the cliff wall and boulder terrain below that. A number of interesting plants grow here, as the steep, south-facing wall creates a special climate allowing demanding species to thrive. For example, it is said that potatoes have been grown in the fine soil at the foot of the cliff.
