Bergmyrberget

Bergmyrberget nature reserve is a good example of the natural forest landscape that previously covered Norrland’s interior. Bergmyrberget includes plenty of structures that belong to the natural forest landscape.

Our boreal forests are naturally characterised by various disruptions, such as forest fires and storm damage. These disruptions have created a varied forest landscape with plenty of deciduous trees and dead wood.

The thick deciduous trees, the dead wood and the old conifers benefit many rare and threatened species. For example, you can see witch’s hair, tree lungwort and three-toed woodpeckers in the reserve.

The reserve is situated around 8 km north-west of Vindeln on the southern slopes of Bergmyrberget.
