34. Kråksjöåsen

Walk along the crown of the ridge and experience the marsh’s open, light expanse on one side and the old forest’s darker backdrop on the other. Enjoy the fragrance of flowering wild rosemary, which in July fills the forest and morass. Pale dead trees stand like guards around the ridge, their bark having long since fallen away. In the area are several bird species, attracted by the surrounding marshlands. If you have your binoculars with you and are on the alert, you may hear the cry of the great loon, see a plover take flight or even catch a glimpse of a watchful boreal owl.

Access

There are information boards in Swedish and English. The trail is well marked and you will get there dry shod. Hilly in places and some roots and rocks.
