Fågelmyrkölen

Fågelmyrkölen is a large mire area containing high quality mires and ancient forest. A road enters the reserve, and at the point where the road ends there is a path heading into the reserve including bridges and duckboard.

The pine forest in the area is old. Many of the pines are thick and 200 years old, while some are as much as 500 years old. There are almost no traces of old forestry. The untouched nature of Fågelmyrkölen makes it ideal for plants and animals that are dependent on undisturbed ecosystems.
