The hiking trail to Borgberget is closed due to falling trees. There is currently no maintainance of the hiking trail.
The nature reserve has areas affected by spruce bark beetle. Many spruce trees have died and may fall over time, so please be cautious and avoid visiting during windy weather.
The beetles only attack living trees and do not remain in dead wood. Dead trees are left in place to support biodiversity, as they provide important habitats for wildlife, mosses, and lichens.
Beskrivelse
This hiking trail leads you into the reserve and up to Borgberget, with ruins of an ancient hillfort. The trail is about 1 km long and is marked with blue trail markers.

Veibeskrivelse
From Hemfosa Farm, follow the gravel road that runs roughly alongside the railway tracks in a southwesterly direction.
After 2 km, you will reach a turning area, where the road becomes a trail. Continue along the trail. Shortly afterwards, you will see a signpost marked “Borgberget 1 km”. Follow the trail markers to the nature reserve.
Forskrifter
In order to protect the Slätmossen-Borgberget nature reserve, please respect the following rules.
Within the reserve, it is forbidden to:
- drill, cut, blast, carve, dig, paint or in any other way damage rock, soil or stone,
- break branches, fell or in any other way damage living or dead trees and bushes,
- dig up plants such as shrubs, herbaceous plants, mosses or lichens, or remove fungi growing on wood,
- operate motorised vehicles.
