Björnberget, Skellefteå kommun

The pines on this west-facing slope are impressively tall. Large, lush plants such as alpine sow-thistle, lady fern and the small, yellow Lapland buttercup grow under the pines.

The pine forest is around 150 years old, but there are also older pines dotted around the area. The tall plants thrive in the damp areas. South of the road, along the brook, you tend to find Lapland buttercup, a beautiful little yellow flower with fantastic green leaves.
