Description
One of the finest beaches in the Vänern Archipelago, on Vålön island outside Kristinehamn. Shallow waters, a playground, and plenty of sun and shade make it perfect for families with children.
Sandvikarna Beach on Vålön is a true paradise for families with children. The beach offers a playground, changing cabin, outdoor toilet, freshwater well, barbecue areas, and information boards, making it easy to enjoy a full day by the water.
Vålön is connected to Kalvön and Sibberön by bridges along the scenic 4 km hiking trail, Tre Öars Led ("The Three Islands Trail").
Dogs are welcome at Sandvikarna, but swimming is not permitted at this particular beach. They are, however, allowed to swim in other areas around the island.
Getting There
In summer, boat bus 97, Stöten, operates between Vålösundsbryggan, next to Café Pärlan, and Vålön. Read more about boat bus 97 and its schedule here.
